Just wanted to showcase 3 items from the newly opened Fresh Market in Lynchburg, VA. Love looking there for wonderfully packaged goodies. For this weeks seasonal pics, I'm showcasing the Fresh Market Jar Cookie Mix, the Chocolate Mix in a jar, and Pumpkin Patch granola in kraft bag with peek a boo front. I love the way they are packaged and have such a festive look. I get so much inspiration by the way they arrange their merchandise and package the food. So healthy for you too, this store specializes in food like "Whole Foods" would carry. Organic, healthy for you items. With all the rain we've had this season a person has to rethink how to work in the garden and yard. The added moisture has been wonderful for all the flowers, plants, and veggies, but the weeds have thrived as well. And I grew up getting on my hands and knees to weed. But, the older I get, the more I have to be concerned about my back. So I've been researching into better ways to weed. Here's some food for thought for Gardening Tools that can save your back!

Thanking God for His great provision and all the beauty of spring! Hope each one of you take time to enjoy all the budding bushes, flowers and trees. Loving the butterflies that flit around and are coming back for that wonderful time of year. Enjoying my birdfeeder and even the cats are getting used to it and not bothering the birds! My pansies are bursting at the seams in lively color and thanks to Milmont Nursery and seeds from last year, I'm planting away and loving all the bursts of color and blooms to come... God tucking a blessing here and there throughout the day.. Thankful to be alive and looking to the Lord for strength and wisdom to live out my days. Planted some of the tomatoes in bigger pots (for an early crop) and are outside in the back basking in the sunshine. The rest are now in the window after being under the big light and can stretch their little green arms and get ready for May for the planting in the garden.
We have wonderful green annual rye growing like crazy as the cover crop and will be trimmed to be worked into compost and eventually into the ground. Had to put up some of the electric fence last evening because the deer are starting to eat some of the rye. I've had a love/hate relationship with putting up birdfeeders because they don't mix with cats...But I couldn't help myself...I put one out in the front with some corn I've had stored and not using...My pansies are flourishing and enjoying them as well! Hope your garden and preparations are doing well!
We had some Heirloom Seeds I had ordered from last year. They took so long to come in we couldn't use them till this year-And put them in recycled styrofoam cups. Hubby bought some other seeds as well...Poked holes in the bottom around the side and filled with potting soil. Had to soak the PS first overnight because it was so dry, then put the seeds in. Placed them on a round plastic thing. Placed by our basement window while we had woodstove going. All but one germinated within the week! Had to slow them down by putting them in the cooler part of our basement with a big light placed on top and had to place seedlings really close to light so they won't be so spindly. Have them on a timer so light goes off at night. Water them regularly....Looking forward to having beautiful tomato plants!
